    Near the end of last year we had the opportunity to visit the Royal Society in London and film Newton's Principia. This episode was the result of that trip.

    It had not accrued to me before, how much work he must of put in to work out that you only needed to use a point at the centre of a mass, and that you could ignore the diameter of the sun or planet.

    I can’t find the source for this so a bit of gossip really, but I remember reading some were that Newton got his knighthood mostly for "vigorous punishment” of people who stole from the royal mint, “a nasty bit of work” if true.
